Christian and Single Study Series

The Christian and Single Study Series contains five sessions written by single adult church leaders. Each lesson has the content and guides for the student and teacher. While written specifically for single adults, these lessons are designed to help us all understand some of life’s unique challenges. The lessons provide the opportunity to form a community that welcomes all adults. The sessions can be used in a small group setting or as a Sunday School elective.

About the Authors:

Dr. Harold Ivan Smith writes about divorce and death. Dr. Smith was one of the pioneers in Single Adult Ministries and divorce recovery. His study, research, and writings on grief give hope, encouragement, and support to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. His is a renowned author and speaker. Harold Ivan messages often uses scripture passages with new applications. He also leads his listeners to unfamiliar passages to discover new insights.

Dr. Linda Hardin writes about singleness from a never-married perspective. Her doctorate dissertation developed a pastoral care model for never-married adults as they grieve the loss of hopes and dreams. A former elementary teacher, Linda works with Single Adult Ministries, Women’s Ministries, and Young Adult Ministries for the Church of the Nazarene.
