The Discipleship Place is brought to you by Sunday School & Discipleship Ministries International, a ministry of the Church of the Nazarene.  It is intended to equip you, the lay person, for ministry in your local church. The Discipleship Place is a superb way to receive training as an adult worker, children's worker, youth worker, Sunday School Superintendent, and more.  It is also an excellent way for you to grow personally in your walk with Christ!

Let's look at the different sections of our web site.

1 - Area of Study. We have 19 areas of study ranging from Adult Worker to Children's Worker, to Youth Worker, to Men's Ministry, and more! Simply put, ministry experts prescribe the books and you will read those books and then take the corresponding exams or course evaluations. Once you have completed all the requirements for an area of study, you will fill out and return the Award Application and we will send you a certificate of completion. Currently we have 8 areas of study online which means you can take the exams and course evaluations on our web site. 2 - Lay Ministry. While anyone can do an area of study, the Certificate of Lay Ministry  is designed fro those who receive approval from their pastor and local church board. Once approval has been granted your pastor will need to fill out and return the Lay Ministry Application. The Lay Ministry studies are completely FREE and accessible to anyone that comes to our web site. For instructions on how to download the studies, CLICK HERE.

3 - Leadership Tools. This section of of the web site has two components.

Practical Tips is the section of the web site that contains excellent downloadable articles and resources!  These articles offer practical tools useful in many areas of ministry and we encourage you to print these articles and give them to your partners in ministry.

Quick Studies is where you will find short, visual presentations covering a variety of topics. These are supplemental resources that an individual can access to get education in specific areas.

4 - Spiritual Growth. This section of the web site has three components.

Classes is the section of our web site where you will find downloadable resources such as handouts and leader’s guides that can be used in Sunday School classes and small groups. When you complete a class please fill out and return the Class Report form so that everyone can receive credit.

Denomination Wide Studies can be used in a class or small group setting. Every year CLT hosts a denomination wide study that is complete with free, downloadable handouts, PowerPoint presentations and a leader’s guide. The 2008 denomination wide study, Beyond Sunday, is now available. When you complete a class please fill out and return the Class Report form so that everyone can receive credit.

Spiritual Growth Studies are designed to help you grow in your walk with Christ.

5 - Community. Here you will be able to connect with Nazarenes from all around the world to encourage and equip one another.

6 - Centennial Lessons. These are excellent for any class or small group and will give an excellent understanding as to what it means to be a Nazarene. These studies have been designed as a way for your church to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Church of the Nazarene. When you complete a class please fill out and return the Class Report form so that everyone can receive credit.
